What is Traditional Bioenergy / Energy Therapy?

Traditional bioenergy therapies are based on cultural concepts such as qi (Chinese), prana (Indian), or universal life energy. Practitioners aim to balance these unmeasured energy fields by hand positions, focused intention or breathing techniques.

Common modalities include Reiki, qigong, therapeutic touch and pranic healing. Sessions are commonly used for stress, anxiety, sleep difficulty, chronic pain support and oncology side-effect relief.

Scientific evidence is limited; observed benefits are mostly attributed to relaxation response, placebo and therapeutic relationship rather than energy transmission. Practice is appropriate as a complementary adjunct only.
