What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary practice based on the assumption that pressure applied to specific points on the feet, hands and ears influences corresponding organs and systems of the body.

Although the scientific evidence base is limited, observational data exist regarding positive effects on stress reduction, relaxation and overall sense of wellbeing. It cannot replace conventional treatment.

Pressure-sensitive neuropathy
Incorrect pressure by an untrained practitioner

  • Relying on reflexology for serious illness can delay medical treatment
  • Avoid application if DVT or acute infection is present
  • Consult a certified reflexologist if you are pregnant
  • Stop the application if severe pain occurs during reflexology
