What is Postnatal Rehabilitation?

Pregnancy and childbirth produce pelvic-floor weakness, abdominal diastasis, postural change, low back and pelvic girdle pain, scar tightness and pelvic organ prolapse risk in many women.

Postnatal rehabilitation begins with assessment of pelvic floor strength, diastasis recti, breath-pelvic floor coordination and gait. Care is staged from gentle reactivation in the early weeks to progressive functional training over months.

A complete program includes pelvic floor muscle training, diastasis-safe core strengthening, postural and body mechanics education, scar mobilisation, return-to-running readiness and screening for postnatal mood disorders.
