What is Low Back Pain?

Low back pain is one of the most common health complaints in the community, and the vast majority of adults experience low back pain at least once in their lifetime. Most low back pain is caused by muscle strain or ligament injury and resolves spontaneously within a few weeks.

Chronic low back pain refers to pain lasting longer than 12 weeks and may be due to structural causes such as spine problems, disc diseases, or nerve compression. If pain radiating to the leg (sciatica), numbness, and weakness are accompanied, specialist evaluation is mandatory.

Sedentary lifestyle, incorrect posture, and sitting habits are among the most important triggers of low back pain. With early intervention and appropriate exercise programs, the vast majority can be treated.
