What is Fluoroscopy Procedures?

Fluoroscopy is a radiologic technique that provides real-time imaging using continuous X-rays. It allows monitoring of dynamic organ function, contrast passage, and interventional procedures.

Clinical uses include upper GI examination, barium enema, cholangiography, voiding cystourethrography, myelography, orthopedic interventions, and cardiac catheterization.

The patient is exposed to radiation; therefore, the necessity is carefully evaluated and the dose is kept limited under the ALARA principle. Decisions during pregnancy require caution.
