What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling uses fine acupuncture needles inserted into trigger points within muscle to release the painful myofascial bands. It uses similar needles to acupuncture but is fundamentally focused on muscle function.

It can be offered as a complement to physiotherapy in chronic back pain, neck pain, tension headaches and athletic muscle injuries. Evidence is moderate-to-low and it does not replace conventional treatment.

In Turkey it must be performed only by physicians holding a Ministry of Health complementary-medicine certificate, under sterile conditions. Avoid unproven claims and advertising.
