What is Cupping Therapy: Application in Chronic Neck Pain?

Cupping therapy is a traditional method that applies negative pressure created by heat or pumping onto the skin. It has dry and wet (hijama) forms.

Mechanistically it is thought to increase local blood flow, provide myofascial release and analgesia.

In chronic neck pain, application particularly over the trapezius is used as a complement to physical therapy.
