What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is an osteopathically derived approach in which light pressure touch is applied to the cranial and sacral regions with the aim of regulating the rhythm of cerebrospinal fluid.

Scientific studies have shown that the craniosacral rhythm cannot be measured reliably and that the therapy's efficacy is no different from placebo.

Because the level of evidence is low, it is not recommended as the primary approach in the treatment of medical illness. It can be used in a limited way for relaxation and supportive purposes.
