What is Ear Acupuncture (Auriculotherapy)?

Ear acupuncture (auriculotherapy) involves applying fine needles, pressure seeds or electrical stimulation to specific points on the auricle, based on the assumption that the ear corresponds to a brain map of the body. The NADA protocol (5 points) is widely used in addiction support programs.

Evidence-based literature is limited; some studies report moderate effects on pain, anxiety and smoking cessation support, but results are inconsistent and it cannot replace conventional treatments.

In Türkiye, it must be applied by an authorized physician under the GETAT regulation. Street auriculotherapy practices and uncertified centers should be avoided.

Symptoms

Chronic pain management (supportive)
