What is Ashwagandha Adaptogenic Support?

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an adaptogenic herb belonging to the Solanaceae family, used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 3000 years. The Sanskrit name means 'horse smell' (root smell).

Active components are withanolides; these reduce cortisol production from the adrenal cortex by acting on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.

Randomised controlled trials have shown effects on stress reduction, anxiety relief, sleep quality improvement, increased muscle mass and increased testosterone levels in men. Standardised root extract (KSM-66) is most studied.
