What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils derived from plants via inhalation, massage, or bathing. It is thought to exert emotional and physiological effects via the limbic system.

Lavender (sleep and anxiety), peppermint (nausea and headache), and eucalyptus (respiratory support) are among the most commonly used oils. It is applied as a complementary approach rather than a stand-alone treatment.

Symptoms

Support for stress, anxiety, and mild depression
Sleep problems and insomnia
Nausea (especially during pregnancy)
Headache and migraine support
Inhalation in respiratory complaints
Muscle tension and chronic fatigue

Risk Factors

Some oils (sage, rosemary) are contraindicated in pregnancy
Some oils may be toxic in infants and small children
Rosemary and eucalyptus must be used cautiously in epilepsy
Avoid contact with the eye mucosa
