What is Urological Cancer Follow-up?

Urological cancer follow-up is the structured periodic evaluation of patients after treatment of urogenital cancers such as prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, and penile cancers.

Each cancer type has different follow-up protocols. PSA in prostate cancer; cystoscopy and urine cytology in bladder cancer; CT/MRI in kidney cancer; and tumor markers (AFP, hCG, LDH) and lung imaging in testicular cancer are the main surveillance tools.

The aim of follow-up is to detect recurrence early, manage complications, reduce treatment side effects, and improve patients' quality of life. A guideline-concordant (EAU, AUA) follow-up plan personalized by risk classification is established.

Weight loss and fatigue
