Anterior Esthetic Laminate Veneers

Thin (0.3-0.7 mm) ceramic or composite shells bonded to the labial surface of anterior teeth to correct discoloration, mild misalignment, diastemas, fractures, and worn enamel, providing a conservative cosmetic solution that minimizes tooth structure removal compared to full-coverage crowns.

What is Anterior Esthetic Laminate Veneers?

Laminate veneers are thin facial restorations bonded primarily to enamel that improve tooth color, shape, alignment, and surface texture. They are categorized by material (feldspathic porcelain, leucite-reinforced, lithium disilicate, zirconia for limited cases, indirect composite, direct composite) and by preparation technique (no-prep/minimal-prep for ultra-thin lumineers, conventional minimal-prep, full-prep with definite finish lines, and prepless additive composite veneers).

Indications include enamel discoloration (tetracycline staining, fluorosis, severe intrinsic discoloration unresponsive to whitening), enamel hypoplasia, mild crowding or misalignment (alternative to orthodontics in adults), diastemas/midline gap closure, peg laterals, fractured incisal edges, worn anterior teeth, and overall smile makeover. Contraindications include severe occlusal disharmony with bruxism (relative), insufficient enamel for bonding (heavily restored or root-exposed teeth), and active periodontal disease.

The workflow includes comprehensive treatment planning with digital smile design (DSD) and diagnostic wax-up, mock-up trial in the patient's mouth, conservative tooth preparation (0.3-0.7 mm facial reduction with vertical/incisal stops), provisional restorations, conventional or digital impression, ceramic fabrication in the laboratory (pressed or CAD-CAM milled and stained, or stratified layering), try-in with adjustable try-in pastes, and definitive adhesive bonding with light-curing resin cement. Long-term success requires occlusal harmony, good oral hygiene, parafunctional habit control with night guard, and avoidance of biting hard objects (ice, fingernails).

Symptoms

Severe anterior tooth discoloration
Mild crowding or anterior misalignment
Diastemas or midline gaps
Fractured or chipped incisal edges
Worn anterior dentition (attrition/erosion)
Peg laterals or microdontia
Smile makeover desire

Risk Factors

Severe bruxism without protection
Inadequate enamel for bonding
Severe Class III or Class II malocclusion
Active periodontal disease
Heavy parafunctional habits
Edge-to-edge occlusion
Patient with high caries risk

When to See a Doctor?

If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek medical attention promptly:

  • Cosmetic dissatisfaction with anterior teeth
  • Discoloration unresponsive to whitening
  • Spaces between front teeth
  • Chipped or fractured front teeth
  • Mild misalignment without orthodontic preference
  • Pre-wedding or special event smile makeover
  • Worn or short anterior teeth

Treatment Methods

01
Comprehensive examination and digital smile design
02
Diagnostic wax-up and intraoral mock-up trial
03
Pre-treatment whitening if needed
04
Conservative facial preparation (0.3-0.7 mm)
05
Provisional veneers fabrication
06
Final ceramic veneer try-in and shade verification
07
Adhesive bonding with light-cured resin cement

Anaemia

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Anaemia is a low haemoglobin level that reduces oxygen delivery, causing fatigue, pallor, and shortness of breath. It is not a disease itself but a sign of many underlying conditions. Most cases are correctable with appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Iron Deficiency Anaemia

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Iron deficiency anaemia develops when dietary intake, absorption, or losses create an iron shortfall, most often affecting women and children. Identifying the underlying cause is the core of management, alongside iron replacement.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause megaloblastic anaemia, neurological symptoms, and cognitive impairment. Early treatment with intramuscular or oral B12 largely prevents irreversible complications.

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Management

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Hypertension is often called the silent killer because it progresses symptom-free for years and can damage the heart, brain, kidneys, and eyes. Regular monitoring, lifestyle change, and evidence-based drug therapy dramatically reduce cardiovascular risk.

Chronic Kidney Disease

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Chronic kidney disease is one of the most common complications of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and can be silent in its early stages.

Hepatitis B (HBV)

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Hepatitis B is a DNA virus infection causing acute and chronic hepatitis with risk of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma; diagnosis integrates HBsAg, HBeAg, anti-HBc, and HBV DNA with management based on disease phase using nucleos(t)ide analogues (entecavir, tenofovir) and universal infant vaccination.

Hepatitis C (HCV)

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Hepatitis C is an RNA virus causing chronic hepatitis that may progress to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma; modern direct-acting antiviral (DAA) pangenotypic regimens (sofosbuvir/velpatasvir, glecaprevir/pibrentasvir) achieve sustained virologic response over 95% in 8–12 weeks with universal adult screening and cure for nearly all patients.

Fatty Liver Disease

Dahiliye (İç Hastalıkları)

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely related to obesity and metabolic syndrome and is largely reversible with early treatment.
