Indication
- Soft tissue loss and asymmetry following surgery or trauma
- Functional discomfort due to age-related soft tissue atrophy

Preparation
- Discontinuation of blood thinners and vitamin E with physician approval one week before the procedure
- Absence of active infection, herpes or eczema in the application area
- Sharing of previous filler applications and allergy history
- Removal of makeup before the procedure
How it's performed
- The application area is cleaned and topical anesthetic is applied if needed
- The physician determines the product, amount and injection points
- Filler material is injected into the layer using a fine needle or cannula
- Shaping is performed with gentle massage
- The result is reviewed and symmetry adjustments are made if needed
Post-procedure
- Avoiding massage and pressure for the first 24 hours
- Avoiding sauna, hammam and excessively hot environments for the first 2 weeks
- Mild swelling and bruising usually subside within 3-7 days
- The result is evaluated 2 weeks later
- Follow-up is scheduled according to the duration of effect (typically 6-18 months)
Risks
- Swelling, redness and bruising at the injection site
- Asymmetry or sensation of an irregular surface
- Granuloma formation (rare)
- Tissue ischemia due to vascular occlusion (very rare, serious)
- Infection (low risk under sterile conditions)
FAQ
How long does the effect last?
It varies depending on the product used; hyaluronic acid fillers are generally effective for 6-18 months.
Is the procedure painful?
Comfort is generally good thanks to topical anesthesia and the anesthetic component within the filler. Mild discomfort may occur.
Can it be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid based fillers can be reversed with the hyaluronidase enzyme. This is not possible for other types of fillers.
Who should not have this procedure?
It is not performed during pregnancy, breastfeeding, in cases of bleeding disorders, active skin infection, autoimmune disease flare and allergy to the material.
