What is Hybrid Valve and Aortic Interventions?

Modern cardiovascular care uses hybrid operating rooms where interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, imaging and anesthesia teams work side by side. This allows transcatheter and surgical approaches to be integrated for the same patient.

Hybrid approaches are used for surgical rescue of TAVI complications, selected combinations of MitraClip and surgical repair, TEVAR combined with open aortic surgery, aortic arch reconstruction and complex congenital cases.

These approaches can improve survival, shorten hospital stay and reduce complication rates. Heart team decision-making, patient selection and advanced imaging guidance are critical to success.
