What is 4D Flow Cardiac MRI?

4D flow cardiac MRI is an advanced technique using three-dimensional phase-contrast imaging to quantitatively assess blood flow throughout the heart and great vessels over time.

It provides unique information for aortic aneurysm, bicuspid aortic valve hemodynamics, congenital heart disease and functional analysis of valvular regurgitation. It enables measurement of parameters such as wall shear stress, pulse wave velocity and kinetic energy.

The technique contributes to surgical and interventional planning in complex structural heart disease. Its research and clinical use is expanding rapidly.

Symptoms

Symptoms of structural heart disease
